On Sunday 26 May the harvesting of the Tuber Aestivum Vitt\u201d commonly called \u201cscorzone\u201d, was officially opened.<\/p>\n

Despite being considered one of the least prized species of truffle also for its rough and warty skin, it is widely used in the kitchen because it can give a very good flavour to the dishes making them particularly tasty.<\/p>\n

Thus throughout the summer period until the end of August the \u201ctartufari\u201d (truffle hunters), with their loyal dogs, will be dedicated to truffle hunting in the Umbrian countryside as well as in the woods of Pietralunga.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

t will be very interesting to join a truffle tour through the woods in search of the precious fruit of the earth together with experts. It will be exciting to watch the dogs, that thanks to their sensitive flair, will sniff out the truffle scent in hidden and inaccessible corners, a scent that is absolutely imperceptible to us. The truffle hunter will then use a special tool called \u201cvanghino,\u201d(a small shovel) to pull truffles out of the ground.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We organize two-hour nature excursions. At the end you can choose:<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>

to visit a truffle processing company followed by a lunch with product tastings, tagliatelle with truffles and Umbrian wines.<\/p>\n<\/div>
